18 National Optical Societies (NOS) in Europe are already societal members of the EOS. Societies can join the EOS as a Branch or as an Affiliated Society. The individual and student members of EOS Branches are automatically full individual and student members of EOS. For EOS affiliated societies, their individual and student members then become EOS Associate individual and members. The benefits of full members and associate members are listed below. All these societies are represented at the EOS board, and the Scientific Advisory Committee, and the Presidents of the NOS receive letters from EOS twice a year.

In addition, any EOS member, regardless of the membership mode, have the possibility to attend most of the meetings of our Partner Societies and co-sponsored events at member rates, and submit to the EOS Journal (JEOS:RP) with a discounted fee.

- SIOF, Italy
is able to submit papers and attend meetings organized by any EOS Branch of this list on the same term and at the same rates as members of this EOS Branch.
