Travelling to Jena 

The journey to the City of Light couldn’t be simpler, because Jena is located in the center of Germany and is therefore very well connected in all directions.
Jena is situated near the intersection of two major motorways, the A9 Rostock-Munich, running north to south, and the A4 Dresden-Eisenach-Frankfurt am Main, which runs east to west. 

 

Travelling by car

A4: Dresden-Eisenach-Frankfurt am Main.
A9: Berlin-Nuremberg is via the nearby Hermsdorfer Kreuz intersection. 

 

Travelling by train

Thanks to good north-south and east-west connections, visitors can also easily travel by train from all directions.

Travelling by plane

The nearest airport is in Erfurt, the state capital of Thuringia, just 70 kilometers away from Jena. Travelling via the A4, the journey time by car is around 45 minutes.
The Leipzig-Halle Airport is also easy way to reach. Leipzig-Halle airport can be reached by car in about an hour via the A9.
