About EOSAM & Previous Events

The European Optical Society Annual Meeting (EOSAM) is a major international scientific conference with an exhibition and industrial program, held in a different location every year. The next  EOSAM will be held on 24-28 August 2026 in Tampere, Finland.

In 2026, we celebrate 20 years since establishing EOSAM as a platform for experts in the field of optics and photonics, bringing forth new research results, state of the art, and bridging the gap between research, education, and industry. EOSAM is attended annually by around 500 top researchers, key leaders, students, and industry experts. 

After 2010 it was decided to move EOSAM around Europe, bringing the event into different optics hubs and at each time creating a unique EOSAM experience for the attendees. In 2020, the EOSAM was made into an annual event.
