Synopsis
This TOM will address both fundamental and application aspects of thermal radiation management. In this context, leveraging of thermal radiation paves the way to many novel applications such as energy harvesting, MID-IR thermal sources, infrared radiation control, radiative cooling, biosensing as well as IR and THz spectroscopic applications. New emerging themes will be revised and discussed ranging from nanoscale heat transfer at selected wavelength, Casimir effect and fluctuational electrodynamics to thermoplasmonics and polaritonics applications in metamaterials and metasurfaces.
Topics
- Mid-IR sources
- Nanoscale heat transfer
- Casimir effect and forces at the nanoscale
- Thermoplasmonics
- Fluctuational electrodynamics
- Plasmonics and polaritonics
- Photo-thermal and photo-acoustic techniques
- Thermophotovoltaics
