Guided wave optics Topical issue

Current challenges and solutions in guided wave optics and integrated photonics

The Journal of European Optical Society (JEOS-RPis pleased to announce a new Topical Issue entitled "Current challenges and solutions in guided wave optics and integrated photonics".

In this topical issue we would like to explore the limiting factor in integrated photonics and guided wave optics and the ways, at frontier of our technologies, to overcome those limits in the near future.

Topics of interest for this topical issue include, but are not limited to:

  • Volume and surface waveguides,
  • Novel integrated photonic circuits,
  • Passive, tunable, and active devices,
  • Novel materials and hybridization,
  • Applications such as single emitter integration, sensing, telecom, spectroscopy, and LiDARs.

This topical issue is not limited to these topics and can be extended to related ones such as manufacturing issues, quantum photonics and quantum computing, uncommon wavelength waveguiding, for instance.

Submitted manuscripts will undergo a rigorous peer-review process, ensuring the highest standards of scientific quality and integrity expected from the journal JEOS-RP. Papers adding a significant value to the field will be published in this special issue, providing an opportunity for your research to gain visibility and make a significant impact in the field.

Submission deadline for this Topical Issue has been extended to September 30, 2024. Papers can be submitted immediately or at any point until this date. Submitted articles will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and published online as they are accepted and added to this topical issue. First published papers are already visible at: "Current challenges and solutions in guided wave optics and integrated photonics"

The median time to “first on-line” with DOI is 70 days.

Papers can be submitted immediately or at any point until this date. Submitted articles will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and published online pending publication of the special issue.
