DGaO Article Collection: Advances in Modern Applied Optics
Deutsche Gesellschaft für angewandte Optik (DGaO)
For more than 100 years, optics specialists from universities, research institutions and industry in Germany have been coming together to exchange ideas under the umbrella of the German Society for Applied Optics (DGaO). The mission of the DGaO is to promote science and research in optics and to empower young talents (Young-DGaO). To achieve this goal, the Society brings together former and current scientific and technical representatives of applied optics, and organizes an annual conference – the Annual Meeting of the DGaO. Here, the DGaO facilitates the personal exchange of ideas and provide scientific inspiration for its members and guests through scientific lectures and discussions.
DGaO Annual Meeting Conferences
The DGaO organizes an annual conference. Traditionally, this always takes place in the week after Whitsun at constantly changing venues. The conferences focus on the following key areas of applied optics:
- Optical metrology and sensor technology
- Photonic sensors and systems for industry and healthcare
- Optical design
- Optics in manufacturing technology
- Optics in medicine
- Lithography and high-precision optics
- Laser material processing and additive manufacturing
- Optics for the automotive industry
- Ultra-precision and nanometrology
- AI methods in optics
- Optical methods in AI
DGaO Article Collection: Advances in Modern Applied Optics
The European Optical Society offers contributors to the DGaO annual meeting conference the opportunity to submit an extended article or a short communication. These publications will contribute to an ongoing collection of research papers that brings together and highlights the current research activities of the DGaO community. This collection stems from the DGaO’s endeavour to actively support a scientific, society-based publication model in order to raise awareness within the European optical community.
Submission procedure
The submitted manuscripts will be subject to the normal standards and peer review processes of the EOS open access peer-reviewed journal: the Journal of the European Optical Society - Rapid Publications, JEOS-RP. The accepted articles will thus appear in the current JEOS-RP volume and their inclusion in the DGaO Collection will also be highlighted.
Submission is done through the NESTOR portal. During this submission process, you should identify your manuscript as intended for the Topical Issue entitled "DGaO". Papers can be submitted immediately. Submitted articles will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and published online as they are accepted. The median time to "first on-line" with DOI is 70 days.
Article processing charges
All manuscripts will benefit from the following significantly discounted publication fees:
Members of DGaO/EOS:
- 550 € for a short communication (up to 4 pages)
- 800 € for a research paper (above 4 pages)
Non-members:
- 900 € for a short communication (up to 4 pages)
- 1150 € for a research paper (above 4 pages)
Current guest editors
Alexander Bielke (ASML Berlin GmbH), program committee chair of the 127th Annual Meeting of the DGaO.
Oliver Baumann (HAW Hamburg), Conference chair of the 127th Annual Meeting of the DGaO.
Claas Falldorf (BIAS – Bremer Institut für angewandte Strahltechnik), representative of the DGaO in the national optical society advisory board of JEOS-RP.
